Dear Donor,

There are not enough words for me to adequately express my gratitude towards your generosity. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the gift of education, and ultimately, a better future. My family's current financial situation has been tough and strenuous; therefore, the fear of me not being able to attend college has had great impact on all of our lives. This scholarship means I will be the first in my family to graduate from high school and the first to pursue a higher education Because of your gift, I have been motivated to dedicate more time and effort into being the best student I could possibly be.

By the end of May 2012, I will be a graduate student of Braden River High School, where I have devoted much of my time to different extracurricular activities and clubs.  A few of my involvements included the foundations of a Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) chapter, Student Government Association (SGA), Senior Advisory Board (SBA), Key Club, Academic Team, and a student tutor. My participation in these organizations are only small ways for me to give back to the community what Take Stock in Children has given to me.

Aside from the honor and the financial assistance that I have been blessed with, Take Stock has also given me a a mentor who has become a lifetime friend. My mentor Dorothy Fletcher means to me more than I can put into words. The four years we spent together will always be some of the fondest memories of my life. She has helped me in more ways than I could have imagined and I consider her as my second mother.

In the fall, I will be studying biochemistry at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Then I plan on attending medical school in pursuance of a career in anesthesiology. Again, I thank you for you generosity and kindness. Without you, I would not have the opportunity to endeavor all that I wish to.
